What does it take for a bar to be counted among the best of the best? The quality of food and drink ranks high among the criteria, most certainly. But things like quality and efficiency of service, glassware and tableware used, perhaps even the design of indoor or outdoor bar chairs and tables, may just play a role in how a bar gets noticed both by the media and by customers.
The following, according to Gridskipper, are the best hotel bars in Paris, France. Perhaps the combination of the food and drink they serve and the ambience they offer make them deserving to be ranked so highly among all the other bars in the City of Lights.
- Hemingway Bar at the Ritz
- Fontainebleu at Le Meurice
- Bar Montaigne at Plaza Athenée
- Jaipur Bar at Hotel Vernet
- Bar at Pershing Hall
- Bar at Hotel Costes
- Ice Kube at Kube Hotel
- Bar at The Murano
Looking at the pictures these bars have on their individual websites, I could see that each one has its own personality as evinced in their choice of furniture, especially their chairs. The Fontainebleu bar at Le Meurice, for instance, has deep leather armchairs, as does the Hemingway Bar at the Ritz.
The chairs at the Jaipur Bar come in several bright colors, kind of reminiscent of the Indian cuisine they offer. The armless chairs at the Pershing Bar, on the other hand, seem to complement its vibrant atmosphere. The Murano goes for a minimalist design, while the Kube, the city’s only ice bar, would understandably have tables and chairs that complement its reputation as an exclusive place to be.
